Chapter Five of the book I’m working has been the most difficult so far. Maybe that’s because I feel so strongly about the subject: Christian creeds. I’ve decided to post the whole chapter here, in several pieces. I’d appreciate your feedback.
The title of the chapter is, “But I Can’t Say the Creed”. It opens with a quote from a well-known theological resource—to wit:
“Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!”—
Cardinal Ximénez to various victims in a 1970 episode of Monty Python’s Flying Circus
The body of the chapter follows, in separate posts.
