Hi! I’m Adam Brooks Webber. If you’re not already on The Merry Mystic mailing list, I’d like to convince you to sign up. You’ll get occasional emails about my new work, much of which is available through this site. When you sign up, I’ll send you a password to my Free Stuff area, which includes lots of free sheet music and other resources. If the emails don’t turn out to interest you, you can unsubscribe whenever you like. (And keep the Free Stuff password, of course.)

Store

I have books, CDs, and a video series for sale from my store page. (I wish I could just give everything away, but one must eat!)

I’m especially excited about my new book, now available: My Burden Is Light: A Pastor’s Plea for Rationality, Honesty, and Humility.

About

Adam Brooks Webber
When I was a boy, I couldn’t wait to grow up so that I could A) move away from small-town Illinois and B) stop going to church. Consequently, I am now a pastor in a small town in Illinois.

Merry, Mystical Missives

Here you’ll find everything I’ve sent out to the mailing list for The Merry Mystic.

Compassion’s Sting

In this week’s installment of The Merry Mystic, I share a new hymn about the earth. Three weeks ago I shared an upbeat, celebratory one: “The Harmony of the Incredible Earth.” Today’s offering is more of a lament. It balances out my feelings about this wonderful earth we inhabit. Sometimes the earth is so overwhelmingly beautiful that I just have to join in its song; sometimes the harm we’re doing, the harm I’m doing, to the earth is so sad that I just have to lament.

Sheet music for “Compassion’s Sting” is now available in the Free Stuff area.

Please leave a comment below: are you celebrating the earth’s beauty today, or lamenting its abuse, or some combination of both?

Best blessings,

Adam

Table Grace

In this week’s installment of The Merry Mystic, I share a little song that celebrates the way my kids used to participate in our table grace.

Sermons and Such

Every week, I preach in the Open Prairie United Church of Christ in Princeton, Illinois. I’m not sending most of these out to The Merry Mystic mailing list; but on the outside chance you’d like to see a sermon, here they are.
