Here’s a new song about God’s signature move. It’s called “Break Our Chains.” Sheet music for “Break Our Chains” is available in the Free Stuff area here.
Who needs to have their chains broken today, and what should we be doing to help? Please leave a comment below.
Marvelous. Great to hear you again, old friend. Sounds like a paean to what Paul expressed in Romans 6. All are enslaved to sin and death, yet set free by trusting in Jesus. He took our place and paid our debt!
Hi, Art! Great to hear from you! (Fellow Merry Mystics: Art and I were in grade school together, and went to the same summer camp. That’s … um … about forty years ago.) I see from your Facebook page that you’ve been helping with some great missionary projects, Art. I also gather that your church tradition is different from mine — so I’m extra grateful for your affirmation of my song. Thanks, and best blessings!
Greetings, Adam ~ Your song of liberation and meditation on its meaning was just what I needed to hear. I am carrying worries as if that would help. Instead the word of God comes through you, calling me to pray those concerns and let the Liberating God free me. With much appreciation and joy in your ministry here!
Ah … “carrying worries as if that would help” … I definitely hear that, Stephanie. Sometimes I write these songs, not to express what I’m feeling, but to try to convince myself to feel what I wish I were feeling! I wish I could more often feel the reality of how God is constantly liberating us from our useless worries. I’m glad my song helped let that reality in for you, if only a little. Thanks for letting me know.
Bravo, Adam, Bravo! I’ve learned that sometimes the key to our own liberation is placed in our palm. But the baffling question can be, “where is the lock”? The key slips into the lock with a satisfying click upon connecting with a brother or sister in need. Stay in the Light, my friend.
Thanks, Andrew, and God bless you!
