Well, this song is sort of sentimental. It isn’t funny, or witty, or erudite. It won’t be going platinum. But it’s one of those things about God that I know beyond doubt — and there aren’t very many of those, so I thought I’d better share it. I hope it will speak to you.

I hope you feel it too. If so, please share it with a friend.
Hi Adam,
I’m only able to pop in every so often now (in addition to my current writing project, which has taken my mind into some pretty deep waters, my parents’ health is on shaky ground and I’m the only one available to help them out). My energy level, consequently, is at an all-time new low, which is why I decided to check in here at your Merry Mystic web site. You’ve always been Mr. Sunshine (to me, at least). I thought I might be able to catch a ray or two from you.
For most of my life, I have felt a strong, strong longing for God and, on occasion, have felt that Presence calling to me. But, at this point in my life, I have to confess that God feels far away. Your song prompted me to think about my inner state. I’m sure that when life-experiences are knocking us down, that lowers our energetic vibration, and at that lower vibrational rate it’s probably harder to feel the presence of God. Maybe what I need now is to open myself to a greater flow of energy. I’m sure the energy is there, waiting to flow into me if I allow it, … if I open a new “valve” within myself. The question is: How? A new daily spiritual discipline would be my guess. I’ll be giving thought to what sort of new spiritual practice would be doable for me now.
Thank you for helping me, via your song, to be more aware of my current inner state. I have, indeed, received a ray of energy from you.
Catch you later, Mr. Sunshine…. Sr. S
Such a beautiful thought, and feeling!
You declare that you know for sure that She longs for us, Adam. Can you elaborate a bit on HOW you know this for sure? When I meditate, I sometimes feel a sure Presence that carries me for hours. But I have considered this a result of my own longing; I’ve never really thought that God was “longing” for me! How can you be so sure of that?
Hi, Dudley!
God’s longing love for us is a teaching of the Christian tradition, of course, and it’s also something my community affirms. But what really brought it home for me was a religious experience: I once heard five words from God. I know, it sounds crazy. But I’ll tell you the story, and you can judge for yourself.
It takes a bit of telling, though. I think I’ll turn it into next week’s video. If I can work up the nerve!
Fantastic! I can’t wait to hear/see your video.
Beautiful song and what I believe a tribute to God’s love for each of us. The music helps open my mind to reassurement of God’s love – not only for me, but everyone. In the busyness of each day, I sometimes think that the tugging at my mind to take some time out for God is how God speaks to us in HIS quietness as HE yearns for us to come to HIM with our love. Oftentimes, when I settle in during the early morning hours or before I retire to bed and make sure that I spend time in God’s Word, love, and in prayer, I receive a knowing within that no matter what, God is in control of all things. Makes for a better night’s rest or a day’s embrace.
