I’m usually a peaceful guy. But there are some things that get under my skin, and being told I’m a heretic, or I’m not really a Christian, is one of them—especially when the person telling me that is an atheist. You might want to send the kids out to play while you watch this one.

Leave a comment and rant on, or rant back, if you like. (And do share this post. You know what happens next week if you don’t!)
Adam, this had me chuckling in recognition! I feel your pain, brother. The H word gets bandied about a LOT these days, and I find, mostly by people who are really just trying to say “I disagree with you” but who can’t resist taking it that one step further….. I was called a heretic recently for expressing the heart of God in maternal language and it cost me a lot. I’m not going to share this on FB though because 1. I think your less angry posts are more beautiful and more you and 2. I really like cats. Meow baby. 🙂
Your rant was very enjoyable. Perhaps it was somewhat in jest? From the Cook’s Tale by Chaucer: “Ful ofte in game a sooth I have herd saye!”. (“Very often, truth is said in jest,” but, Adam, I defer to your Old English translation.)
Otherwise, Adam, get a grip ;>)
Thanks, Doug. My rant was all in sooth — though mayhap less solempne than is my wont.
I love that you avoid saying “pisses me off” but use the term “asshat,” both of which are among my personal favorites. But then again, I’m an atheist, so maybe my opinion isn’t valid.
You liked my video, so obviously you are a person of taste and discernment, regardless of your beliefs about the deity (or absence thereof)! Thanks for taking the time to tell me so.
Kathy,I thought you were Jewish. No, that is your sidekick, Judy, right?
At some times I’m an atheist, others an agnostic, most of the time I identify as a Christian. I really don’t much ponder what I am. Maybe I should.
Wow Adam that was an awesome rant I enjoyed it very much
Thanks, Joelle!
Hi Adam,
Your playful rant got me thinking…
I’ve been attempting to study myself, via introspective journal writing, for the past 25 years. Where has it led me? To a state of immense confusion. I think I respect, more than ever now, the Buddhist concept that the self is illusion. When I attempt to grab ahold of my “true self” it becomes as a fine mist. After all these years, I am unable to claim, with any certainty, that I know who or what I am, only that it appears and feels as if I am.
But the appearance and “feeling sense” that I am may not be correct. I might actually be a piece of programming in a computer-simulated world. Or maybe I’m a character within the dream of a much larger sleeping mind. Or perhaps I’m experiencing a three-dimensional “movie” through the eyes of a character created by a screenplay writer (and the technology of this three-dimensional movie experience is advanced enough that the mind of the viewer can be tricked into thinking that s/he, or it, is experiencing this world over a span of many years).
At this point in my life experience, I can only smile when someone attempts to slap a label on me.
Your rant also made me smile, so I thank you. : )
Catch you later, alligator… Sr. S
First time here. I loved your rant, and I love your style. I think I’m going to keep coming back. Thank you!
Thanks, José. Hope to see you here again.
Even “on a rant,” you’re still one of the most thoughtful, articulate, and kind-spirited people I’ve ever encountered. And before your foray into the often itchy underbelly of feline cinema goes too far, please know I clicked on this video from Facebook. 😉
Thanks and best blessings, Courtney!
You know, maybe I should try combining these two genres. I’ll get my old cat Justice and film some “cat on a rant” video. “Justice the Ranting Cat” — I could write a theme song for him — what do you think?
Sounds catchy! I’d give it a listen.

Amen Brother! I have been called the Anti-Christ by Christians, told I belong to a Cult. never knew the UCC was a cult, and gullible by atheists . So I get it !!! Thanks for the rant, I already shared on Face Book!
